At the moment I am around \u00a335,000 in debt and, as a result, barely living. The situations and reasons for the level of debt are varied, mostly of my own doing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, this situation is not sustainable and being nearly 50, retirement is now somethig that I must consider. Whilst still some 17 years away, that time will pass quicker than expected (my kids are now both teenage, but it does not seem like 13 years at least have passed since they were born).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the coming few posts I will break down the debt into categories, introduce a little bit more of me, and start looking at ways to change my position from broke to retirement ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those that may be wondering, I chose the name to reflect my current financial position ans that of my mental state.
